  1. Create the directories Laravel writes to:
  2. Copy .env.example to .env:
    then fill in DB_* and APP_URL.
  3. Install the PHP dependencies on the server: 
    composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader
    (or php composer.phar install --no-dev)
  4. Generate an application key:
  5. Create the database, if you are not using MySQL:

    The application stores its sessions in the database, so it cannot start at all until the file exists. With MySQL, create the database on your host instead.
  6. Open /install and follow the guided steps.
